Rebecca Thomas is a proud Las Vegas Native. After working in the casino industry for several years she decided to become a teacher to share her love of learning. She earned a B.S. in secondary education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She then completed an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from UNLV and another M.Ed. in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University.
After teaching social studies for many teachers she transitioned to teaching technology courses. She has always had a passion for technology and is self taught. She started one of the first high school CTE cybersecurity programs in the state of Nevada in 2017. She has taught web design, information technology, computer science, and cybersecurity.

Ms. Thomas is currently the cybersecurity program leader at Sierra Vista High School in Las Vegas, NV. She is also the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) advisor and coaches Cyber Patriot and National Cyber League teams.
In her free time Ms. Thomas is an avid trail runner and has completed many ultra marathons including several 100 mile races. She has teenage twin sons who she loves to travel with.
