Phishing Attack Project

NV DOE Standard: 9.3.9 Describe and demonstrate a working knowledge of phishing attacks and mitigation steps

Time: (2 class periods)

One class period of work.

One class period to present to the class.

Directions: 

1. In groups of two, create a believable phishing attack.  
2. Students must craft a believable and targeted email, create a phishing site, and justify if their attack is whale or spear phishing.  
3. Students must present their attacks in Google Slides (2-3 slides) or in a video (3-5 minutes) uploaded to YouTube.  Explain how it works, the goal of the attack (financial, chaos, etc.)
4. Students must upload their project urls HERE and then present to the class during the next class period. 
5. After each presentation, students will engage in student discount moves with their groups by verbally clarifying each group’s project details, comparing the projects’ details, supporting the ideas presented in the project, and question or challenge the viability of each groups’ attack.
